Golden Rim Resources Ltd (ASX:GMR) continues to confirm multiple broad, sub-parallel zones of gold mineralisation at its Kada Gold Project in Guinea, where it is completing the first stage of the definition drilling for a maiden mineral resource.
The West African gold explorer said drilling continues to outline extensive areas of additional oxide gold mineralisation within large gaps in the previous Newmont drilling.
Assays for one diamond and six reverse circulation (RC) holes at Kada are pending and are expected over the coming week.
The company said it is on track to deliver Kada’s maiden Mineral Resource Estimate in the second half of 2021.
Resource definition diamond drilling at Kada has intersected 32 metres at 1.4 g/t gold in oxide at Kada.
Second round of resource definition drilling
Golden Rim managing director Craig Mackay said: “Our thick oxide gold blanket at Kada continues to grow.
“We have received more broad oxide gold intersections that fill the gaps in the previous Newmont drilling, outlining additional oxide mineralisation in the central and south-eastern portions of the Newmont gold resource area.
“A remaining 320-metre gap in the Newmont drilling along strike and north of the new oxide gold intersection of 32 metres at 1.4 g/t gold in KDH010 is of particular interest.
“This is an area between section 1,224,280mN and section 1,224,600mN, where Golden Rim previously reported another broad oxide gold intersection of 46 metres at 1.3 g/t gold in KRC001.
“It will be a priority for the second round of resource definition drilling scheduled to commence in September 2021.”
Assay results
Golden Rim has received and reported assays for diamond holes KDH004 – KDH008, KDH010 – KDH011 and RC holes KRC001 – KRC012.
New gold intersections (at a 0.3 g/t gold cut-off) include:
➢ KDH010:
- 32 metres at 1.4 g/t from 0 metres;
- 11 metres at 0.9 g/t from 79 metres; and
- 28 metres at 0.6 g/t from 109 metres.
➢ KRC009:
- 8 metres at 1.4 g/t from 85 metres.
➢ KRC010:
- 21 metres at 0.9 g/t from 0 metres.
➢ KRC011:
- 21 metres at 1.7g/t from 67 metres including 1 metre at 17.8 g/t from 67 metres; and
- 21 metres at 1.7 g/t gold from 114 metres.
➢ KRC012:
- 14 metres at 1.3 g/t from 41 metres; and
- 4 metres at 2.1 g/t from 95 metres (hole ended in mineralisation).
The remaining assays are expected over the coming weeks.
Golden Rim has paused its resource definition drilling for a short period so it can receive and assess the outstanding assays before commencing additional drilling.
Going forward
Golden Rim expects to commence a second round of drilling in September 2021, which will include additional infill drilling in the Newmont gold resource area and drilling along strike in the 15 kilometres long Kada gold corridor.
Golden Rim has planned a further 10,000 metres of auger drilling at Kada, which will include both infill drilling and drilling to extend the auger drilling coverage into the southern portion of the Bamfele permit and the eastern portion of the Kada permit.
This is expected to commence in November 2021.
