Polymetals Resources Ltd (ASX:POL) has added mineral exploration experience to its team with the appointment of Clive Hastings as supervising geologist.
Hastings has more than 41 years of experience in mineral exploration, mining services and project management, having managed numerous diamond, reverse circulation and air-core drilling programs across Australia and Africa.
In addition to previously working in Guinea, Hastings has experience in Archaean and Proterozoic greenstone-granitoid terrains throughout Western Australia’s Yilgarn and Pilbara regions.
Henry Tebar who was outlined in the prospectus as the exploration manager will remain as a consultant to the company and provide technical guidance on the balance of the Alahiné phase-2 drilling program in Guinea’s Siguri Basin.

Geological insights
Hastings has been actively involved in the activities at the company’s Alahiné Project since the beginning of the drilling program on June 29.
In addition to supervising the Alahiné phase two program, he has also scouted the company’s Mansala exploration licence around 10 kilometres south of the Alahiné Licence, providing significant geological insights of the area.
After starting the phase two drilling on June 29, 2021, Polymetals has drilled a total of 5,200 metres, consisting of 68 aircore (AC) holes for 4,840 metres and three reverse circulations (RC) holes for 360 metres.
Deeper than anticipated weathering has resulted in softer drilling conditions and has significantly reduced the intended use of RC drilling in favour of the lower cost and faster AC drilling.
The company plans to complete at least 2,000 more metres of AC drilling based on geological interpretations and site geologist recommendations.
