San Leon Energy starts search for new CFO after Lisa Mitchell resigns

San Leon continues to progress its proposed transactions with Midwestern Oil and Gas and Energy Link Infrastructure (Malta)

San Leon Energy PLC (AIM:SLE, AQSE:SLE, FRA:SZX1, OTC:SLGYF) (AIM: SLE) said its chief financial officer and executive director, Lisa Mitchell, has resigned to take up a new role and that it has started the search for a replacement.

The Nigeria-focused oil and gas company said Mitchell will remain in her position and as a member of the board for the time being while San Leon continues to progress its proposed transactions with Midwestern Oil and Gas Company Ltd and Energy Link Infrastructure (Malta) Ltd.

Last month, the company announced an agreement for the proposed reorganisation and consolidation of the Midwestern Leon Petroleum Ltd vehicle which holds a stake in the world-class OML 18 oil assets in Nigeria.

While in 2020, San Leon bought a 10% interest in Energy Link Infrastructure, the company which owns the Alternative Crude Oil Evacuation System (ACOES) project. The ACOES is being constructed to provide a dedicated oil export route from the OML 18 asset offshore Nigeria, comprising a new pipeline and a floating storage and offloading vessel.

"On behalf of everyone at San Leon, I would like to thank Lisa for her invaluable contribution over the past two years," said chief executive Oisin Fanning. "She has been instrumental in streamlining our financial reporting processes and I wish her all the best in her future endeavors,"

"Lisa will remain a core part of the team over the coming months to ensure an orderly handover to her successor and so that there are no interruptions to our proposed transactions with Midwestern Oil and Gas Company Limited and Energy Link Infrastructure (Malta) Limited," he added.
