Aurumin completes Mt Dimer drilling, targeting seven different deposits

All initial samples have been dispatched to the assay laboratory and the company expects results in around five weeks.

Aurumin Ltd (ASX:AUN) has completed Mt Dimer Project drilling, targeting seven different deposits and prospects in a 34-hole reverse circulation campaign, for 2,954 metres, in Western Australia.

Drilling assessed the existing deposits (Lighting, Golden Slipper and LO3) and newly identified mineralised structures discovered during Aurumin's recent SAM survey target drilling (Frodo North (T6), T12, and T24).

Aurumin also targeted a new prospect north of the Karli West open-pit based on historical soil sampling and site mapping.

All initial samples have been dispatched to the assay laboratory and the company expects assays to be returned in approximately five weeks.

Historic high-grade deposits

At the Lightning deposit, Aurumin aimed to follow up a potential new high-grade ore shoot that returned 4 metres at 4.39 g/t gold, while at Golden Slipper, drilling focused on previously identified high-grade ore shoots, as well as recent following up drilling that returned 7 metres at 7.55 g/t.

Additionally, Aurumin’s LO3 program is designed to target the downdip continuation of high-grade ore shoots which were previously mined both in open-pit and underground.

Newly identified prospects

At Frodo North, drilling is designed to target extensions to mineralisation along the strike of the Frodo open pit and to follow up on a mineralised structure identified in two holes on a single drill line.

The T12 target was intersected by two reverse circulation (RC) holes on a single drill line, testing for northerly trending structures identified using the SAM survey.

This structure occurs as a massive quartz vein with associated pyrite and limited quartz outcrop to the southeast of Golden Slipper and drilling aims to confirm the structure north and south of the outcrop and linking into other mineralisation.

Likewise, the T24 target was also intersected by two RC holes on a single drill line, testing for northerly trending structures adjacent to the SAM survey and supported by soil geochemistry in Aurumin's March 2021 drilling program.

Aurumin also set out to test northerly trending mineralised structures within the Karli Northwest (T2) anomaly, along strike of Karli West, with a drill line across the anticipated structure.

Looking ahead

Mt Dimer is a historical high-grade production centre, having produced in excess of 125,000 ounces of gold, including open-pit and underground production of 600,000 tonnes at 6.4 g/t gold.

Once drilling results have been received, Aurumin will plan and begin further drill programs in quarter three and quarter four.
