Kin Mining discovers new zones of high-grade mineralisation at Cardinia Gold Project

Further drilling is planned to in-fill and extend to surface the deeper intersections received to date at Rangoon.

Kin Mining NL (ASX:KIN)'s new zones of high-grade mineralisation at the Rangoon and Fiona areas within the Cardinia Gold Project (CGP) have upgraded the potential of the under-explored Eastern Corridor through reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling (DD).

The Eastern Corridor program is enhancing the geological understanding of several prospects (Helens, Rangoon, Fiona and Cardinia Hill) within this large mineralised complex, which extends over an area of around 1 kilometre by 5 kilometres on the eastern side of the CGP.

“Highly mineralised with numerous deposits”

Speaking to the results, Kin managing director Andrew Munkton said: “Our Eastern Corridor exploration program is starting to kick some serious goals at Cardinia, with some exciting new results from the program around the Rangoon deposit.

“We have discovered new zones of shallow dipping, high-grade mineralisation at Rangoon with some impressive grades just to the east of the historically defined mineralisation.

“The zone is around 600 metres long, lies around 70 metres to 130 metres below surface and remains open in all directions, providing an exciting target for follow-up in-fill and extensional drilling.

“This new discovery shows that the Eastern Corridor is highly mineralised with numerous deposits and mineralised positions already identified at Cardinia Hill, Helens, Fiona, Rangoon, East Lynne and now these new zones.

“We see significant potential to delineate new resources and grow our overall inventory across this corridor, which will continue to be a big focus for us moving forward.”

Drilling results

New Rangoon results include 3 metres at 21.1 g/t gold from 98 metres, 3 metres at 8.40 g/t from 106 metres, 4 metres at 2.57 g/t from 66 metres and 8 metres at 1.84 g/t from 83 metres within 40 metres at 0.81 g/t from 66 metres, and 6 metres at 1.26 g/t from 79 metres and 4 metres at 1.77 g/t from 96 metres within 63 metres at 0.61 g/t from 63 metres.

At Fiona, drilling extended the historical deposit by a further 100 metres to the north, with assays including 1 metre at 6.3 g/t from 49 metres within 23 metres at 0.84 g/t from 27 metres and 3 metres at 2.16 g/t from 30 metres.
