Aldoro Resources Ltd (ASX:ARN) has kicked off coring activities on its first diamond hole, ND0001, testing the VC1 target within the Narndee Igneous Complex (NIC) in WA after several frustrating weather, logistical, and mechanical delays.
The hole is designed to test the central strongest part of the VC1 EM conductor.
Close supervision during drill rig setup has ensured the first downhole surveys are within 0.5 degrees of planned dip and azimuth.
The VC1 EM target is expected to be intersected by NDD0001 between 175 metres and 190 metres downhole depth with the first drill core showing the hallmarks of a typical regolith profile consistent with a weathered gabbro; a thin veneer of surficial cover, thin mottled zone and plasmic zone clays.
Water Source
Water has been located close to the drill sites for the VC1 drill program.
A historical percussion drill hole was re-entered and a submersible pump installed.
The water is relatively fresh, possibly potable and Aldoro believes discovering water so close to the drilling this early in the program is fortuitous as it can be reticulated directly to drill sites, negating the need for water cartage.
This could result in significant savings in water cartage and road repairs for as long as the company operates in the area.
Water samples collected from the bore may be used for test work and monitoring to assess the quality of the water and sustainability for uses other than drilling.
