Playtech PLC (AIM:PTEC) said trading in its first half to end June was on track as a good performance in its B2B arm offset longer than expected retail closures in Italy.
Online continued to perform very strongly said the gaming business in a trading update while retail in Italy began to reopen from mid-June, Playtech added.
B2B online was especially strong it said and notably Caliente, and Snaitech while the business in Asia was stable in line with the levels achieved in the second half of 2020.
“Whilst the COVID-19 pandemic continues to pose challenges and the macroeconomic outlook remains uncertain with the possibility of further unexpected lockdowns, given the strong H1 performance and the momentum within the business, the board is confident of the company's prospects for the remainder of 2021 and beyond,” said the statement.
