Technology Minerals Ltd, the company developing the UK's first sustainable circular economy for battery metals, has said that battery-recycling business Recyclus Group Ltd , in which the company has a substantial interest, has appointed Jeff Borrman as chief operating officer with immediate effect.
Borman has worked in the recycling industry for over 40 years, mostly in senior management positions in the electronics, precious metals and battery sectors. He has considerable experience in all aspects of commercial, recycling solutions, refining, laboratory and recovery for reuse processes.
Early in his career he worked in laboratories and refineries in the UK and Sweden, where he developed pioneering techniques for precious and base metal separation from circuit boards and other electronic materials.
Subsequently, he gained commercial experience at senior level with a number of major OEMs in the telecom, auto industry and battery manufacturing working for customers such as Ericsson, Nokia, Sony (NYSE:SNE), IBM, Agilent and Honeywell (NYSE:HON).
From 2000, he was Business Development Director and in 2015 became European Group Managing Director for Belmont Trading, a US based company covering electronics recycling of telecom networks, mobile devices, data asset management, materials trading and developing battery market covering facilities in UK, Czech Republic and Sweden with experience of also jointly helping to set up a recycling facility in Russia.
In 2014, at Belmont Trading and uRecycle Ltd he established and developed take back processes for EV and Hybrid lithium batteries, safe collection and handling systems, discharging/disassembly, reuse, recycling systems for recovery of materials from cells, anodes and cathode, bi-cells.
