Oncimmune signs deal with world-renowned Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

The firm's SeroTag technology will be used to assess for resistance to checkpoint inhibitor drugs and chemotherapy

Oncimmune Holdings PLC (AIM:ONC, FRA:OCY) (LON:ONC) signed a profiling contract with a world-renowned cancer centre in the United States.

The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute will use Oncimmune’s SeroTag technology to assess for resistance to checkpoint inhibitor drugs and chemotherapy.

Specifically, SeroTag will screen for autoantibodies that mistakenly target and react with a person's own tissue.

The high-throughput, multiplex, discovery platform, which is part of Oncimmune’s ImmunoINSIGHTS service, will be deployed in trials involving the treatments atezolizumab, nivolumab, pembrolizumab, durvalumab and cisplatin-based chemotherapy.

Additionally, it will be key to identifying autoantibodies that can be predictive of “immune-related adverse events”.

Chief executive, Dr Adam Hill, said: "As autoantibodies continue to be recognised as a key biomarker class that aid in the understanding of interactions between cancer and the immune system, the ImmunoINSIGHTS platform is becoming increasingly instrumental in studies for a wide range of cancer indications and therapy classes.”
