Kavango starts drilling on Target A2 of the Kalahari Suture Zone in Botswana

Kavango is looking for 'proof of concept' that the Karoo-age gabbros in the KSZ have the potential to host magmatic sulphide ore bodies

Kavango Resources PLC (LON:KAV) said drilling has started on Target A2 in the northern (Hukuntsi) section of the Kalahari Suture Zone (KSZ) in Botswana.

The exploration company has said that the KSZ licences display geology similar to that hosting world-class magmatic sulphide deposits such as those at Norilsk in Siberia and Voisey's Bay in Canada.

Kavango is looking to become the first company to retrieve drill core from the bottom of the Norilsk-style "keels" in the KSZ.
