FPX Nickel Corp (CVE:FPX) (OTCMKTS:FPOCF) (FRA:FP5) has announced the appointment of Randy MacGillivray as the company's new manager of environment and government affairs.
MacGillivray, who previously held a similar role with Centerra Gold Inc (TSE:CG) (NYSE:CGAU) (FRA:GOU), will support FPX's senior leadership in managing the environmental, community and government engagement efforts of the company's Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA)-stage Decar nickel district in British Columbia (BC).
“Randy has a strong track record of respective and collaborative engagement with First Nations governments on several BC projects and mines, and has played a hands-on management role in advancing projects through the environmental assessment and permitting process both in BC and abroad,” FPX Nickel President and CEO Martin Turenne said in a statement.

“As we move our flagship Baptiste project toward a preliminary feasibility study, he will play a critical role in ensuring the company maintains a high standard of environmental stewardship and mutually beneficial collaboration with our First Nations partners,” Turenne added.
As well, the company has granted MacGillivray 250,000 stock options with an exercise price of $0.50 per share that will expire on July 19, 2026.
Vancouver-based FPX Nickel has said its Baptiste deposit, contained within the company's Decar nickel district in BC, is projected to be among the world’s 10 largest nickel mines by annual output, having an estimated 35-year mine life with significant expansion potential.
