Okapi Resources Ltd (ASX:OKR) (FRA:26O) has completed an initial reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Enmore Gold Project in northeast NSW.
The program comprised 10 holes for 1,257 metres over the Sunnyside and Bora prospects and was designed to test the depth extent of shallow mineralisation reported from historic drilling.
Samples are now being preparing and will be sent for assaying to laboratories with results expected shortly.
Assessing potential
Okapi’s executive director David Nour said: “We are very pleased to now have this initial drilling program completed with results expected to provide an important assessment on the potential of the project.
“Credit to the exploration team who managed to complete this drilling program in wet and difficult conditions.
“We expect the assay results shortly.”
Testing depth extent
The Enmore Gold Project has a potentially analogous geological setting to the nearby Hillgrove Antimony-Gold Mine, which is owned and operated by Red River Resources Ltd (ASX:RVR) (FRA:R1R).
Enmore Gold Project – prospect location plan.
Despite extensive historic drilling at Enmore, there is limited deeper drilling with high gold grades associated with quartz veins and breccias previously returned in several deeper holes.
One of the primary aims of the first pass drilling is to test the depth extent of shallow mineralisation reported from historic drilling at the two priority prospects.
The company is drilling the majority of holes at the Sunnyside Prospect with two holes drilled at the Bora Prospect.
