Benchmark Metals plans for 37,000m of classification drilling to grow AGB, Dukes Ridge and Cliff Creek deposits at Lawyers

The company said it had recently completed a so-called 'classification block' model for the AGB, Dukes Ridge and Cliff Creek deposits at the property

Benchmark Metals Inc (CVE:BNCH) (OTCQX:BNCHF) has outlined more details on how it aims to expand resources through drilling at its flagship Lawyers project in British Columbia.

The company said it had recently completed a so-called 'classification block' model for the AGB, Dukes Ridge and Cliff Creek deposits, which indicates the current status of blocks, namely whether they are in the inferred category, or the indicated, or measured.

The model then determines how many drill-holes are required to upgrade a block from one category to the next. Thus, across the three deposits, 37,000 metres of classification drilling is now planned.

"The geological modelling has outlined areas in the deposits for significant expansion," said John Williamson, CEO of Benchmark, in a statement.

"Benchmark has near 3 million gold-silver ounces (2.1 Moz Indicated + 0.8 Moz Inferred) that will increase with targeted drilling within open-pitable areas that are near surface. The project has world-class potential with growing resource areas and new zones that could provide large new discoveries across the 144km2 land package."

This approach to convert inferred to indicated resources will "provide significant opportunity to grow all three of the deposits for a future expanded and updated resource for inclusion in a feasibility study," the company added.

Benchmark is focused on developing the substantial resource potential of its huge Lawyers asset, which sits in the prolific Golden Horseshoe of northern British Columbia.

The asset consists of three mineralized deposits that remain open for expansion, as well as more than 20 new target areas along a 20-kilometre trend.
