Cobra Resources PLC (LON:COBR) has appointed Jason Cherry as exploration manager.
Since June 2021, Cherry has been in the field managing Cobra's aircore geochemistry programme at Wudinna.
He has over 15 years' experience as an exploration geologist, focused on South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.
He has supervised mining and exploration operations in the Gawler Craton - where Cobra's Wudinna Gold Project is located - and Wheatbelt regions, covering a range of commodities including gold, copper, nickel and uranium.
In 2016, Cherry helped deliver the feasibility study for Australia's largest undeveloped uranium resource, the Mulga Rock uranium project. He holds an MSc in Geology from Monash University, Melbourne.
As exploration manager, Cherry will be responsible for delivering Cobra's field programmes safely and successfully while ensuring the best possible outcome for all stakeholders.
"We are fortunate to have an exploration geologist of Jason's calibre joining our team as we ramp up our field activities, with both aircore geochemistry and reverse circulation drilling campaigns taking place this year,” said Cobra chief executive Rupert Verco.
“Having already been managing our current drill programme, his familiarity with our deposits, prospects and targets is an added benefit. Jason's extensive regional experience in exploring undercover techniques and pathfinder mapping of multiple commodities will be valuable to Cobra as we continue to strategically explore our highly prospective tenements."
