Milestone Scientific Inc (NYSE:MLSS) has expanded sales of its equipment in Texas, saying that the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) Health Clear Lake Campus Hospital has now begun using its CompuFlo Epidural Instrument.
UTMB is a major academic health sciences center of global influence and the move comes after the MedTech group began selling CompuFlo disposables previously to the UTMB Health Galveston Campus Hospital.

"I am very pleased to announce that UTMB Health has expanded its use of the CompuFlo Epidural Instrument, including its consumables to its Clear Lake Campus Hospital," said Arjan Haverhals, CEO of Milestone Scientific.
"This expansion follows successful use of the instrument and disposables at the Galveston Campus Hospital and is strong validation of the favorable response to our technology by leading anesthesiologists. At the same time, our new sales force initiatives are taking hold, and interest in the technology is growing."
Milestone Scientific patents, designs and develops innovative diagnostic and therapeutic injection technologies and instruments for medical, dental, cosmetic and veterinary applications.
The firm's computer-controlled systems are designed to make injections precise, efficient, and virtually painless, and its CompuFlo product for epidural injections has a 99% success in locating the epidural space on the first attempt. Done manually, the procedure can be cumbersome and time-consuming.
At the end of last month, the company boosted its medical sales team with the appointment of Chet Trechock as vice president of sales medical along with three new representatives.
