TomaGold begins 10,000m drill program on Obalski property

The program is aimed at defining the A-Po zone by drilling every 50m between sections 120 E and 450 E to a vertical depth of at least 500m, with some holes reaching a vertical depth of 650m

TomaGold Corporation (CVE:LOT) (OTCMKTS:TOGOF) (FRA:OTM) has announced the start of its 10,000 metres (m) drilling program on its wholly-owned Obalski property, located 3 kilometres south of Chibougamauin in Quebec.

The program is aimed at defining the A-Po zone by drilling every 50m between sections 120 E and 450 E, to a vertical depth of at least 500m, with some holes reaching a vertical depth of 650m, the mineral exploration company added.

Results from a 2,502m drilling program conducted in the winter of 2020/21 revealed several high-grade gold and copper values, including 47.4 grams per ton (g/t) gold, 87.6 g/t silver and 7.06% copper over 1.1 and 67.1 g/t gold, 40.1 g/t silver and 2.32% copper over 0.5m in hole OBS-20-002; 12.45 g/t gold, 17.7 g/t silver and 0.53% copper over 0.65m in hole OBS-20-001; and 23.7 g/t gold and 24.5 g/t silver over 0.5m in hole OBS-21-005

“To optimize our chances of success, we will also use the data collected from the recent Pulse-EM survey,” President and CEO David Grondin said. “We believe that the results of this first program are a good indicator of the gold and copper potential that lies below.

"The work is expected to take approximately four months to complete,” Grondin added.

Discovered in 1928, the Obalski deposit produced 100,273 tons at grades of 1.14% copper, 2.08 g/t gold and 6.04 g/t silver from the A zone between 1964 to 1972, and around 9,000 tons at a reported grade of 8.5 g/t gold from the D zone in 1984.

In addition to Obalski, TomaGold has an interest in four other gold properties located in the same region of Quebec.
