Mawson Gold Limited (TSE:MAW) (OTCPINK:MWSNF) (FRA:MXR) has reported further encouraging drill results from its Sunday Creek project in the famous Australian goldfields of Victoria, which show continuing mineralization at depth and increasing antimony grades.
The assays come from 3 holes, out of 18 now completed at the project, for a total of nearly 3,000 metres (m). Fifteen holes have now been reported and drilling continues ahead of the publication of a maiden resource.

Hudson noted that the deepest hole drilled to date at the Apollo mine area hit broad mineralization with multiple impressive higher-grade zones, including 15.3m at 2.2 grams per ton (g/t) gold and 2.1% antimony from 231.4m depth. Also hit was 0.5m at 10.1 g/t gold and 0.7% antimony from 245.6m depth.
That hole was drilled 50m down-dip from another previously reported Mawson hole, which intersected 36.4m at 2.4 g/t gold and 0.4% antimony from 177 m depth demonstrating the consistency of mineralization, said the firm. Another hole - the most south-easterly hole at Apollo - uncovered a width of 5.3m at 3.1 g/t gold and 1.1% antimony from a depth of 111.1m.
"We continue to be impressed by the continuity of gold mineralization as we drill to depth, as well as the increasing antimony grades. Drilling continues as we work towards a maiden resource," added Hudson.
Sunday Creek lies in the famous Victorian Goldfields in Australia, which have produced more than 80 million ounces of gold. In 2020, Mawson acquired three shallow high-grade gold assets in Australia - Clonbinane (renamed Sunday Creek), Redcastle and Doctor's Gully.
At Sunday Creek, historic gold mining occurred between 1880 and 1920 over a more than 11 kilometre strike length and a 2,500-point soil sampling program is now nearly complete extending east-northeast from drilling areas to test this trend, said Mawson.
The integration of a LiDAR survey, soil sampling data, rock chips and geophysics is key to the expansion of the project along strike, it added.
