Eden Research receives first sign-off for products in Morocco and Romania

The company is a specialist in sustainable biopesticides and plastic-free formulation technology

Eden Research PLC (LON:EDEN) said it has received first approvals for products in Morocco and Romania – for bionematicide Cedroz and bio-fungicide Mevalone respectively.

Sign-off in Morocco covers Cedroz’s use on tomatoes and cucumbers.

Tomatoes form a core part of Morocco's agricultural output, with the region producing around 565,000 tonnes a year.

Mevalone, meanwhile, has been approved in Romania for use on wine and table grapes. The country is Europe’s sixth-largest wine producer.

Cedroz has now been authorised in ten countries and Mevalone in fourteen.

Eden’s chief executive, Sean Smith, said: “With governments in these countries focused on reducing the use of conventional chemicals in agriculture, these developments represent exciting opportunities for us, as farmers seek sustainable and effective alternatives.”
