Yandal Resources accelerates exploration drilling at Gordons Dam and Malone prospects with four rigs to be added in July

During the June Quarter, the company transitioned its priority one focus towards exploration activities at the Gordons Dam and adjacent Malone prospects.

Yandal Resources Ltd (ASX:YRL) is accelerating exploration drilling at its Gordons Dam and Malone prospects with plans to fast-track the program in July and include an additional four rigs.

Currently, one aircore and one reverse circulation rig (RC) are operating with a second RC rig due on site this month at the Gordons Gold Project.

Subject to the availability of experienced field personnel, a diamond drilling rig is planned to be onsite as soon as possible in the September quarter.

Drilling highlights at Gordons Gold Project

New assays received from near surgavce intervals completed in March include 11 metres at 2.66 g/t gold from 30 metres, including 1 metre at 7.59 g/t and 1 metre at 9.16 g/t as well as 7 metres at 1.09 g/t from 43 metres and 2 metres at 2.58 g/t.

Results are pending from a further 56 RC holes for 6,151 metres, 42 AC holes for 3,022 metres and one diamond hole for 342 metres that have been completed since April.

It is expected that over the course of the September and December quarters, a further 20,000 metres of drilling will be undertaken at the prospects.

Yandel belt projects

New RC drilling at the Sims Find prospect confirmed that mineralisation dips to the west and is open beneath around 150 metres vertical depth.

Highlights include 5 metres at 1.32 g/t gold from 193 metres, including 2 metres at 2.63 g/t, 1 metre at 4.14 g/t from 58 metres, 6 metres at 1.94 g/t from 124 metres, including 1 metre at 4.42 g/t and 1 metre at 4.69 g/t as well as 3 metres at 1.74 g/t from 176 metres and 1 metre at 4.95 g/t.

Results from a further seven RC holes completed along strike from Sims Find and one from the new Cash prospect, around 1.5 kilometres directly north along strike from the Corboys gold deposit owned by Northern Star Resources Ltd are pending.

The company is also awaiting results from 44 aircore holes completed at the Flushing Meadows North prospect.

Yandal plans to undertake 40,000 metres of high-impact RC drilling at the McClure project in the September quarter.

Currently, 11 RC holes to a maximum depth of 350 metres are planned to test the size potential of the highest priority targets.

Site access has been prepared for this work and it is planned to commence in early to mid-July when drilling personnel become available.

Next Steps

Key exploration activities planned during the September and December quarters include:

  • Receive and interpret assays from drilling completed at the Gordons Dam, Malone, Cleft, Sims Find, Cash and Flushing Meadows North prospects;
  • Continue focus on drilling with up to four rigs at the Gordons Dam and Malone prospects and determine target size potential as soon as possible; and
  • Drill high-impact RC program with potential follow-up diamond drilling at the Mt McClure project.
