Block Energy PLC's (LON:BLOE) Paul Haywood joins Proactive London's Katie Pilbeam after spudding the WR-B1 well at the West Rustavi field in the Republic of Georgia.
Haywood explains that the well is being drilled to target the West Rustavi Middle Eocene reservoir and will include an 800 metre horizontal section.
It is intended as a production well with a target of 2.1mln barrels of recoverable oil and gas resources. He says this all marks a 'really exciting time' as the firm's first new well based on 3D seismic data captured in 2019.
