Australian Strategic Materials Ltd (ASX:ASM) has boosted its leadership team to assist in the company's drive towards its ‘mine to manufacturer’ strategy in the production of critical metals.
Six candidates have been appointed to new roles within the company.
Leadership appointments
Rowena Smith is now chief operating officer, having previously worked for South32 Ltd (ASX:S32) as chief sustainability officer accountable for the sustainability strategy and business processes.
She brings more than 28 years of global mining experience and has held various senior roles in strategy, commercial and operations such as the vice president of supply at South32 and general manager for the Kwinana Nickel Refinery at BHP.
Jason Clifton has been appointed as chief financial officer from Woodside Petroleum Limited (ASX:WPL), where his most recent position was senior vice president of financial services, responsible for treasury, tax and finance.
Julie Jones is now general counsel, with a strong background in mining and manufacturing.
She has more than 18 years of legal, commercial, strategic and corporate governance experience.
Frank Moon has been appointed president Asia, with more than 25 years of experience in the metal and material industries.
He has been involved in international business development and global marketing where he held executive roles in South Korea, UK, Europe, USA, Japan and China.
Tess Lackovic has been employed as chief culture officer, with senior people and culture executive experience spanning 15 years within globally and locally listed mining, oil and gas, and manufacturing businesses.
Lastly, Peter Simko is now ASM’s chief information officer.
He has expertise in technology, business systems, and business transformation, with a focus on business improvement, digital innovation, and project leadership and is the founder and chair of a volunteer fundraising organisation called Rock Off MND, an annual live music event that raises funds and awareness for Motor Neurone Disease research.
