Idaho Champion Gold Mines Canada Inc (CSE:ITKO) (OTCQB:GLDRF) (FRA:1QB1) has begun an induced polarization (IP) resistivity survey at its wholly-owned Champagne gold project near Arco, Idaho.
The ongoing IP survey is part of a larger, previously announced 2021 field program. Idaho Champion will also complete IP line 6 from its 2020 test program, as well as two additional lines.
Defining IP line 6 is described as essential to fully outlining the large IP anomaly that was discovered in 2020 and will be needed to plan further drilling on the southern part of the target.

Lines 7 and 8 will be focused on extending the IP anomaly up to 800 meters farther north. Surveying and defining the IP anomaly is the focus of the company’s 2021 drilling program.
"Our 2021 field program is developing nicely at Champagne with the technical team currently executing mapping and sampling programs across the property, focused on the huge extent of known alteration and historic occurrences,” Jonathan Buick, president and CEO of Idaho Champion said in the announcement. “We expect that the results of the extended IP survey will complement the ongoing work, resulting in additional drill targets that we expect to test later in the 2021 drill campaign and beyond.”
The Champagne project also contains the past-producing Champagne mine, a heap leach operation on an epithermal gold-silver system that occurs in volcanic rocks. The former owner had conducted a shallow reverse circulation drill; however, no deep drilling or significant modern exploration has occurred since the mine shuttered in 1992.
According to Idaho Champion, the Champagne project has a near-surface cap of gold-silver mineralization emplaced by deep-seated structures that acted as conduits for precious metal-rich hydrothermal fluids.
