Cyprium Metals Ltd (ASX:CYM) has intercepted sulphide ore grade copper in the second diamond hole, part of a phase 1 diamond drilling program at the Nanadie Well Copper-Gold Project in Western Australia’s Mid-West.
A broad zone of copper sulphide was intersected from 109 metres to 341 metres down hole in NWD2001, which is around 320 metres to the north of NWD2004 that returned 144 metres at 0.7% copper and 1.5 g/t silver from 25 metres.
NWD2001 returned 232 metres at 0.4% copper and 0.1 g/t gold from 109 metres. This included:
- 9 metres at 0.4% copper and 392 g/t silver from 303 metres including 2 metres at 0.1% copper & 1,470 g/t silver from 306 metres;
- 10 metres at 0.7% copper and 0.1 g/t gold from 109 metres including 2 metres at 1.8% copper and 0.2 g/t from 116 metres;
- 1.2 metres at 3.1% copper and 0.2 g/t gold from 131 metres;
- 4.9 metres at 1.2% copper and 0.2 g/t gold from 138 metres including 1.8 metres at 2.9% copper and 0.4 g/t gold from 138.1 metres;
- 0.7 metres at 4.8% copper and 0.2 g/t gold from 188.7 metres;
- 12.3 metres at 0.5% copper and 0.1 g/t gold from 190.1 metres;
- 1.4 metres at 1.3% copper and 0.3 g/t gold from 228 metres;
- 9.9 metres at 0.5% copper and 0.1g/t gold from 232.2 metres including 0.7 metres at 2.4% copper and 0.4g/t gold from 234.4 metres;
- 18 metres at 0.4% & 0.1g/t gold from 256 metres including 0.8 metres at 2.6% copper and 0.6g/t gold from 265.1 metres; and
- 6 metres at 1.2% copper and 0.2g/t gold from 276 metres including 2.6 metres at 2 % copper & 0.5g/t gold from 277 metres.
Visible copper in all holes
Cyprium Metals executive director Barry Cahill said: “We are pleased to announce the second set of assay results from the Phase 1 Nanadie Well diamond drilling campaign that had all diamond drill holes intersecting visible copper mineralisation.
“Diamond drill hole NWD2001 was commenced from outside of the supergene mineralised corridor and angled west at 60 degrees towards the sulphide zone.
“The resulting assays returned a consistent 232-metre copper mineralised intersection from 109 metres downhole.
“The drill hole also intersected a crackle breccia zone with high-grade silver sulphide mineralisation from 303 metres downhole, which requires further work to define the mineralisation style.
“Downhole geophysics was conducted from the diamond drill hole to assist in the planning of the Phase 2 drilling campaigns.
“These are another set of fantastic drill results for this extensive deposit, which is very shallow, broad, consistently mineralised and is open in multiple directions.“
Oxide and sulphide mineralisation
Extensive near-surface oxide and sulphide mineralisation has been identified during this drilling program, which is open along strike to the north and south and across strike to the west.
The mineralisation does not outcrop and is covered by 1 to 25 metres of transported material.
Nanadie Well deposit
Preliminary investigations of the Nanadie Well deposit data indicates potential for oxide and sulphide mineralisation over the currently identified strike of 750 metres.
The company’s 1,328-metre diamond drilling program was completed in January 2021 and was primarily designed to test the sulphide mineralisation below 50 metres depth at the deposit.
There is an extensive shallow sulphide copper-gold intersection continuing immediately below the oxide material derived from the layered mafic intrusive unit that has been outlined in the previous reverse circulation (RC) drilling announcements and quarterly reports.
The results from this drilling, the phase 1 RC January 2021 campaign and subsequent drill program will be used in the preparation of a JORC 2012-compliant mineral resource estimate for Nanadie Well during 2021 for inclusion in the Murchison copper-gold scoping study.
