Kin Mining's phase-3 drilling enhances geological understanding of underexplored Eastern Corridor at Cardinia Gold Project

The company is systematically exploring across the Cardinia Mining Centre as it seeks to advance several targets in parallel while developing a pipeline of exploration targets for ongoing resource expansion.

Kin Mining NL (ASX:KIN) (FRA:8KM) continues to enhance geological understanding of the underexplored Eastern Corridor at its 1.23-million-ounce Cardinia Gold Project (CGP) in Western Australia with follow-up reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling completed at key targets.

The drilling program is designed to extend the depth of known mineralisation as well as an initial evaluation of targets generated from the phase-3 exploration program that offers the potential for resource growth.

Results received from phase-4 drilling to date have provided an initial assessment of the mineralisation style and gold grade at each of the targets, which will assist with prioritising them for follow-up programs to target additional resources to feed into a future CGP-based mining and processing operation.

Exploration highlights

At Cardinia Hill Deeps (targets 2,3 6 and 7), all 20 holes intersected the mineralised Cardinia Hill structure which has now been extended to more than 800 metres of strike and 200 metres depth.

Highlights from RC and diamond drilling to date include 7.8 metres at 2.9 g/t gold from 267.2 metres, including 4.8 metres at 4.16 g/t from 267.2 metres and 3 metres at 5.87 g/t from 59 metres.

The best intersection at Helens South and Helens East (targets 1 and 4) returned 2 metres at 5.96 g/t from 35 metres with Helens South indicating a linking structure between two larger north-south faults, the Fiona East fault and Cardinia Hill fault.

Drilling at Rangoon has been completed with the aim to better understand the geology of the resource and extend the resource at depth.

The drilling at Fiona was designed to enhance the geology of the resource with recent mapping indicating Fiona as a linking structure between two larger north-south faults, the Fiona fault and the Fiona East fault and has the Cardinia Hill porphyry extending along strike to the north.

Again, Kin Mining believes this interpretation is similar to the current Cardinia Hill structural model.

Results are expected in the coming weeks.

Eastern Corridor exploration

The Eastern Corridor targets are between 500 metres and 4.5 kilometres from the centrally located CGP.

Currently, mineral resources within the Eastern Corridor total 3.9 million tonnes at 1.59 g/t gold for 194,000 ounces across four deposits at Helens, Rangoon, Fiona and Cardinia Hill.

The area has been covered by detailed magnetics and gravity surveys and underwent deeper RC and DD drilling programs during the company’s phase-3 exploration program completed between 2020 and early 2021.

This program revealed porphyry intrusions adjacent to sheared mafic volcanic and felsic volcanic contacts as a primary control of high-grade gold mineralisation.
