Real Luck Group celebrates Canadian Senate's approval of a bill to legalise sports betting

Real Luck Group says there is massive interest in wagering on sports and esports and the industry is expected to be worth billions to the nation's economy

Real Luck Group Ltd (CVE:LUCK) (OTCQB:LUKEF), along with its Luckbox esports gambling subsidiary companies, has welcomed the passing of Bill C-218 by the Canadian Senate.

Bill C-218, known as The Safe and Regulated Sports Betting Act, proposes to make it lawful to bet on a single sports or athletics event. It was passed by Senate's Standing Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce for deliberation and will now be sent back to the House of Commons for royal assent and becoming an official amendment to the Criminal Code.

Real Luck Group CEO Thomas Rosander said the Senate’s approval of the bill was significant for the online gaming industry. The decision will help provide safe and regulated sports betting for millions of Canadian fans, he added.

“There is massive interest in wagering on sports and esports and the industry is expected to be worth billions to the nation's economy,” Rosander said in a statement.

“We look forward to the official amendment to the Criminal Code and will look to be involved in the licensing process as soon as possible.”

Real Luck Group, a member of the Canadian Gaming Association, said Luckbox’s proprietary platform, which offers wagering on 14 major esports as well as sports betting, is well positioned to benefit from this trend.

Luckbox offers legal, real-money betting, live streams, and statistics on all major esports and sports on desktop and mobile devices. The company has a Business-to-Consumer (B2C) platform, and by leveraging shared technology, data, and resources, it can offer an extensive range of betting options for esports tournaments.
