McDonald’s plans to open 50 new outlets, create about 20,000 new jobs in the UK this year

McDonald's is already one of the UK and Ireland's biggest employers

Fast food giant McDonald’s Corp (NYSE:MCD) plans to open 50 new outlets and create about 20,000 new positions in the UK this year.

Paul Pomroy, chief executive for UK and Ireland, said the ubiquitous burger chain is also looking to open another 100 branches over the next two years.

McDonald's is already one of the UK and Ireland's biggest employers with 130,000 staff working at 1,400 restaurants.

The 20,000 new roles will be created in existing outlets, as government Coronavirus guidelines relax, and in the new restaurants.
