Braveheart profits soar as investments pay off

The investment group posted a pre-tax profit of £14.2mln in the year to end-March 2021

Braveheart Investment Group PLC (LON:BRH) booked a huge profit as it banked the proceeds of sales of two of its investments – Pharm 2 Farm and Remote Monitored Systems.

The investment group posted a pre-tax profit of £14.2mln in the year to end-March 2021 (2020: loss £575,000).

AIM-listed Braveheart added it ended the year with cash of £2.1mln even after paying out a dividend of 42.75p per share (worth £15.5mln) during the year.

The group is now focused on five strategic investments including 100%-owned Paraytec, which is working with the University of Sheffield to develop a rapid test for identifying cancer and pathogens, including viruses such as Coronavirus (COVID-19) and diseases such as Alzheimer’s.

Braveheart’s other main investments are Phasefocus (42.7%), Sentinel Medical (38.4%), Gyrometric Systems (19.9%) and Kirkstall 80%).

Net assets during the year rose to £2.56mln (£1.8mln).
