Talon Metals reports multiple thick intersections of massive nickel-copper mineralization at CGO West area

The resource company is drilling outside the current resource area at the CGO West target to follow up on a recently announced intercept of 13.88 metres of mixed massive nickel-copper mineralization

Talon Metals Corp (TSE:TLO) (OTCMKTS:TLOFF) (FRA:TAO) has revealed more positive drill results from outside its Tamarack resource area that showed multiple thick intersections of massive nickel-copper mineralization.

The resource company is drilling outside the current resource area at the CGO West target to follow up on a recently announced intercept of 13.88 metres of mixed massive nickel-copper mineralization.

In a release, Talon revealed the results from seven new drill holes that all intersected nickel-copper mineralization at shallow depths. Highlights of the results include 7.31 metres (m) of mixed massive nickel-copper mineralization in one hole and 5.44 metres in another, as well as a third hole that intercepted 9.81 metres.

Talon told investors that the results “significantly expand the area of high-volume ‘pooled’ massive sulphides’ first indicated in the 13.88m intercept.

Two of the new drill holes are 26m and 32m step-outs to the west and southwest of the 13.88m intersection, Talon’s vice president of geology Etienne Dinel told shareholders.

"The drilling results reported today provide further evidence to support our hypothesis that this area is a pool of massive nickel-copper mineralization that is much thicker than the surrounding layer of massive nickel-copper mineralization,” Dinel said in the statement. “More drilling will be completed to test the east and north extension of the pool. In this pool alone, there may be more metal than what has been drilled in the entire CGO East area in the last four months.”

CGO West is approximately 100m north-north-east of the Tamarack project's resource area and extends for an additional 400m beyond where past drilling showed the presence of nickel-copper mineralization.

The Tamarack Nickel Project comprises the Tamarack North Project and the Tamarack South Project including a large land position - 18 kilometres of strike length - with numerous high-grade intercepts outside the current resource area.

Talon has an earn-in to acquire up to 60% of the project.
