MGC Pharmaceuticals appoints David Lim as joint company secretary

The European-based company develops and supplies affordable standardised phytocannabinoid-derived medicines to patients globally.

MGC Pharmaceuticals Ltd (ASX:MXC) (LON:MXC) (OTCMKTS:MGCLF) has appointed David Lim as joint company secretary with immediate effect.

Lim is a finance and corporate governance professional with more than 15 years of experience working for ASX listed companies.

He has previously performed the role of group chief financial officer and company secretary at several ASX listed businesses including Equigold NL, Aurora Oil and Gas and Elixir Petroleum.

Co-founder and managing director Roby Zomer said: “David joins MGC Pharma at an exciting time for the business, as we make significant progress on clinical trials across our product line, most notably with the stage-III trials of Cimetra™.

“We all look forward to working with David and to utilising his previous experience in other listed businesses in Australia.”

Clinical trial programs advancing

The company is actively progressing its major clinical trial programs planned for CimetrA™, CannEpil® and CogniCann® across Australia, Israel and Brazil.

Commencement of the CimetrA Phase III to treat COVID-19 and CannEpil Phase IIb trials for treatment-resistant epilepsy are imminent and all the required regulatory approvals have been received for both.

An application has also been submitted to the Brazilian regulatory agency, ANVISA, to add an additional eight clinical sites to the CimetrA Phase III trial.

All three trials are well funded following the successful £6.5mln IPO fundraising and listing on the London Stock Exchange in February 2021.
