Challenger Energy appoints Eytan Uliel as CEO

“We are making steady progress on our plan to reset the company both strategically and corporately, with a view to positioning the business for future growth," said Eytan Uliel.

Challenger Energy Group PLC (LON:CEG) has confirmed the appointment of Eytan Uliel as its new chief executive.

Uliel succeeds Simon Potter who was chief executive since 2011 and will remain with the company as non-executive director as he provides ongoing transitional support to the executive team.

"I am delighted to have formally assumed the role of CEO of Challenger Energy,” Uliel said in a statement.

“We are making steady progress on our plan to reset the company both strategically and corporately, with a view to positioning the business for future growth.

“I and the executive team will be working closely with our re-organised Board in implementing a strategy focussed on creating shareholder value through production and cashflow growth across our portfolio. I look forward to engaging over the coming months with our shareholders and stakeholders, and providing regular updates on our progress."

The company also appointed Stephen Bizzell as a non-executive director, replacing Ross McDonald who is stepping down.

The Challenger board now comprises chairman William Schrader, deputy-chair James Smith, non-executive directors Potter and Bizzell, plus Uliel.
