Kin Mining NL (ASX:KIN) has tabled further robust gold assays from exploration work at the Cardinia Gold Project (CGP) regional prospect of Mount Flora.
Recently, the junior explorer kicked off a 269-hole, 10,166-metre aircore drilling program at the prospect to test a range of gold-in-soil anomalies.
Today, Kin reported the final results from that campaign, returning 8 metres at 1.04 g/t gold from 24 metres and 4 metres at 1.17 g/t from 48 metres to bottom-of-hole.
Overall, the latest intersections highlight the presence of several mineralised trends at Flora, adding to the prospectivity of the overall Cardinia gold play.

“Priority focus”
Speaking to the campaign’s success, Kin managing director Andrew Munckton said drilling had outlined three coherent areas with consistent mineralisation.
“We are encouraged to see more strong results from this first round of wide-spaced, shallow aircore drilling at Mount Flora, building on the exceptional results announced last week.
“This area will be a priority focus for initial RC drilling, which we plan to start as soon as POW approvals are received and the rig becomes available from the phase four drill program at Cardinia.”
Building on strong results
Other highlights from the final round of assays from Mount Flora include:
- 8 metres at 0.8 g/t from 16 metres in hole MF21AC623;
- 4 metres at 1.1 g/t from 48 metres in hole MF21AC624;
- 4 metres at 1.04 g/t from 16 metres in hole MF21AC663; and
- 2 metres at 1.06 g/t from 24 metres to bottom-of-hole in hole MF21AC610
Ultimately, Kin’s latest results build on initial findings reported to the ASX last week, where the explorer intersected nearly 9 g/t in one hole.
Commenting on the previous assays, Munckton said: “Following last week’s exceptional result of 22 metres at 8.96 g/t, we dispatched a field team to follow up this area.
“They have identified a number of northeast-trending quartz veins, which appear to be the primary control on the mineralisation.”
Moving forward
As it builds on the exploration strategy at Cardinia, Kin hopes to undertake further work at the Mount Flora prospect.
At this stage, the company intends to conduct additional aircore drilling and follow up high-grade results to date with an initial reverse circulation (RC) program over the tenement.
An RC campaign is slated to kick off once a phase four exploration program at the wider Cardinia asset runs its course and the company’s program of work is approved.
