Faron Pharmaceuticals Oy (LON:FARN, First North:FARON) said research has been published supporting the immunotherapeutic blockade of Clever-1 to activate anti-tumour immune responses in advanced cancer patients.
Specifically, it analyses the mode of action of bexmarilimab, both in the lab and in heavily pre-treated metastatic cancer patients from the part-one, dose-finding stage of Faron's ongoing phase I/II MATINS study.
The open-label study has treated more than 140 patients.
A recent assessment of data from patients enrolled in the completed part-one and ongoing part-two of the study identified promising anti-tumour activity in multiple advanced solid tumours.
The latest research, published in the Clinical Cancer Research journal, was carried out by Dr Maija Hollmén and colleagues at the University of Turku.
