Follow-up infill auger drilling is underway to assist defining the extent of this new Kandiole target.

Oklo Resources Ltd (ASX:OKU) (OTCMKTS:OKLOF) (FRA:JYA) has achieved regional success from first-pass, shallow aircore (AC) drilling at the Kandiole Project in West Mali, Africa after encountering an extension zone of near-surface gold mineralisation in three 200 metres space drill traverses.

The company believes this is a potential new gold discovery, around 20 kilometres southwest of the Seko mineral resource.

New results include 3 metres at 4.81 g/t gold, 3 metres at 4.24 g/t, 3 metres at 3.92 g/t, 6 metres at 1.29 g/t, 6 metres at 1.38 g/t, 3 metres at 1.81 g/t and 12 metres at 0.45 g/t.

"Extremely positive"

Managing director Simon Taylor said: “Once again, we are delighted to report a second potential gold discovery from first-pass reconnaissance drilling at our Kandiole Project as part of the company’s mineral resource growth initiative underway at Dandoko and other regional targets.

“Kandiole is located within 20 kilometres of Seko and complements our recently reported early success at Sari.

“Both projects are located within reasonable trucking distance of the 0.67-million-ounce gold mineral resource at Seko.

“It’s still early days at Kandiole, however, we consider the potential extent of this new target, along with the other undrilled auger anomalies, as extremely promising with holes returning intersections of greater than 4 g/t gold.

“A 14,000-metre drilling program is currently in progress, testing numerous targets immediately along the 15-kilometre Dandoko gold corridor, including potential extensions to the Seko Mineral Resource.

“Given the early success at Kandiole and Sari, planning is well advanced for the follow-up evaluation of these targets in the near future.”

Aggressive resource growth initiative

Since the announcement of the initial mineral resource estimate in late March 2021, Oklo has embarked on an aggressive resource growth initiative.

The current program comprises 14,000 metres of drilling at the Dandoko Project, targeting mineral resource extensions along strike and at depth of Seko and a number of geochemical and induced polarisation geophysical targets (IP) along the 15 kilometres Dandoko gold corridor.

First pass shallow AC holes were designed to test the KN1 gold in auger geochemical anomaly, one of four auger targets previously delineated by Oklo.

KN1 corresponds to an interpreted northeast-trending structural corridor extending from the regionally significant Senegal Mali Shear Zone into Dandoko.

Importantly, this zone mineralisation forms part of a much larger auger geochemical anomaly (KN1) that extends over 2.4 kilometres.

Similar untested targets are located to the immediate west, including KN2- 4, with infill auger geochemistry programs underway.
