Pantoro confirms further high-grade results from Sailfish Prospect at Norseman Gold Project

Sailfish represents Pantoro’s first drilling prospect on Lake Cowan, and the results to date have demonstrated the huge potential to continue to uncover high-grade mineralisation throughout this under-explored area.

Pantoro Ltd (ASX:PNR) (FRA:RKN) has received further high-grade gold results from a ten-hole infill drilling program on the Sailfish Prospect on Lake Cowan at the Norseman Gold Project (Pantoro 50%) in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia.

A number of high-grade results were returned with significant intersections including:

  • 0.9 metres at 59.88 g/t gold from 81.1 metres downhole;
  • 0.65 metres at 115.41 g/t from 96.05 metres downhole;
  • 1.2 metres at 8.10 g/t from 73.4 metres downhole;
  • 1.6 metres at 4.07 g/t from 83.0 metres downhole; and
  • 1.45 metres at 4.28 g/t from 131 metres downhole.

A total of 22 holes have now been drilled into the Sailfish prospect.

This drilling has confirmed the Sailfish reef to be a shallow southeast dipping lode system typical of Norseman style mineralisation with hanging wall and footwall ore zones oriented similarly to the high-grade HV1 vein at the Harlequin mine to the South.

Potential future ore source at Norseman

Pantoro managing director Paul Cmrlec said: “Sailfish represents Pantoro’s first drilling prospect on Lake Cowan, and the results to date have demonstrated the huge potential to continue to uncover high grade mineralisation throughout this under-explored area.

“The results to date provide great encouragement that Sailfish may develop into a future ore source at Norseman once sufficient drilling density is applied to the area.”

Sailfish Prospect

Mineralisation has been observed to be hosted in both the favourable Bluebird Gabbro (a megacrystic rock unit), and hanging wall basalts, and on the contact of the two units.

This is significant in that the Bluebird Gabbro unit hosts the 1.8 million ounces North Royal deposit, while some of the multiple lodes at Harlequin are hosted in the basalt units.

Results from the holes drilled by Pantoro to date include:

  • 1.6 metres at 61.78 g/t from 98.5 metres downhole including 0.33 metres at 234.14 g/t (including 0.4 metres of core loss calculated at 0g/t)
  • 0.65 metres at 38.66 g/t from 88.9 metres downhole.
  • 0.8 metres at 9.88 g/t from 93.0 metres downhole.
  • 8.1 metres at 67.29 g/t from 78.6 metres downhole inc. 0.7 metres at 521 g/t and 0.25 metres at 252 g/t (including 3.6 metres of core loss calculated at 0g/t).

Ongoing lake work program

The previously announced gravity survey covering the entire tenement package including Lake Cowan has been completed and processing is underway.

This data will be integrated with the existing datasets and the current target ranking will be updated and new targets incorporated in advance of the mobilisation of a lake air core rig with 20,000 metres budgeted in the next 12 months to advance the lake targets.
