Thor Explorations Ltd (CVE:THX) announced the appointment of Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) senior director Osam Iyahen to the company's board as it looks forward to working with the corporation.
Iyahen is also the head of Natural Resources at AFC, and has over two decades of experience in driving natural resource and multi-billion-dollar infrastructure finance transactions. According to the company, Iyahen has successfully executed natural resource transactions across Africa with over $1 billion of capital deployed.
As part of their investment in Thor Explorations, the Canadian mineral exploration company granted AFC the right to nominate one person to the company’s board. As a result, Iyahen is AFC’s nominee to the board.

In a statement, Thor CEO Segun Lawson said: “We are delighted to welcome Osam Iyahen to Thor’s Board of Directors. As Head of Natural resources at AFC, he brings significant expertise and in country knowledge that will further strengthen the company's board. We look forward to working with both Osam and the AFC as the Project enters into production.”
The Vancouver-based company is advancing Nigeria's first large-scale gold mine, namely its wholly-owned flagship Segilola gold project, towards first production.
Thor is engaged in the acquisition, exploration and development of mineral properties located in Nigeria, Senegal and Burkina Faso.
