Ying Lu, Senior Analyst at Roskill joins Proactive London's Katie Pilbeam to discuss the market drivers for Nickel, now as one of the best performers among all the base metals in the last year.
Lu says 'we really see the nickel market staged an impressive recovery against a backdrop of a pandemic'.
She says the recovery was underpinned by several factors, including strong stainless steel demand in China driven by a metals intensive stimulus package in combination with resilient growth from the EV battery market.
Moving to this year, Lu says the markets continue to see healthy demand from stainless steel and battery sectors.
