Silvercorp Metals finds wide and high-grade intercepts from 2021 exploration at LMW mine, Ying project

Currently, ten drill rigs are turning at LMW and 116 diamond drill holes, including 100 underground holes and 16 surface holes totaling 22,890m, have been completed

Silvercorp Metals Inc (TSE:SVM) (NYSEAMERICAN:SVM) (FRA:S9Y), the China-focused metals miner, has encountered "wide and high-grade" intercepts from this year's exploration at the LMW mine, it said.

The LMW mine is one of six underground mines at the company's flagship Ying complex in the Ying mining district, which all feed two mills, and where exploration drilling and tunneling work is currently ongoing at all mines.

Currently, ten drill rigs are turning at LMW and 116 diamond drill holes, including 100 underground holes and 16 surface holes totaling 22,890 metres (m), have been completed. Assays for 101 holes have been received, with 53 hitting many zones of high-grade silver. In addition, 3,352m of exploration tunnels have been developed at the LMW mine between October 1, 2020, and May 1, 2021.

Three rigs are currently working at the vein LM7 discovery, which includes wide intercepts along a strike of 320m near development tunnels at the 600m level.

Highlight drill results here include a 20.75 m interval (19.67m true width) at a grade of 261 grams per tonne (g/t) silver, 1.08% lead, 0.04% zinc, 0.16 g/t gold, and 0.78% copper.

Another hole hit 25.58m at a grade of 202 g/t silver, 1.26% lead, 0.12% zinc, 0.15 g/t gold, and 0.37% copper.

Elsewhere, drilling and drift tunnels have further demonstrated continuity of the near north-south extending W1 and north-western striking W6, W6E1, W6E2, W6W, and W18 veins, said the miner. The discoveries here are expected to expand resources in this area.

In addition, exploration tunnels were driven along and across major mineralized vein structures to upgrade the drill-defined resources and test for new parallel and splay structures, said Silvercorp.

One of the highlight results from a tunnel exposed mineralization 15m long and 1.38m wide, grading 1,460 g/t silver, 11.36% lead, 0.87% zinc, 0.02 g/t gold, and 0.22% copper within vein LM17.

Silvercorp describes itself as a profitable Canadian mining company, which produces silver, lead and zinc metals in concentrates from mines in China.
