IronRidge Resources Ltd (LON:IRR) has hit additional broad and high-grade lithium pegmatite drill intersections at new targets adjacent to the Ewoyaa lithium project in Ghana.
At Ewoyaa IronRidge has already defined a resource 14.5mln tonnes grading 1.31% lithium oxide (Li2O) in the inferred and indicated category, including 4.5mln tonnes at 1.39% Li2O in the indicated category.
Highlights from the recent drilling include 50 metres at 1.36% Li2O, 24 metres at 1.3% Li2O, 21 metres at 1.29% Li2O, and 17 metres at 1.48% Li2O.
The current drilling programme, which is ongoing, is designed to add resource tonnes within the immediate Ewoyaa resource area and to test new exploration targets within the adjacent Saltpond license, as well as to test new spodumene-bearing pegmatites.
"We are highly encouraged with the ongoing results received, which continue to confirm additional high grades in new exploration targets tested,” said Vincent Mascolo, chief executive of IronRidge.
"The Board is delighted to have defined a new mineralised structure at the Ewoyaa North target, where broad pegmatite intersections, including 50 metres at 1.36% Li2O, have been reported, which remains open along strike and is within 210m of the currently defined resource footprint. We are confident the additional exploration targets will increase resource scale and improve project economics.”
