Inhibikase Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:IKT) CEO Milton Werner tells Proactive the Atlanta, Georgia-based biotechnology company is making 'substantial progress' on its Phase 1 trial of its therapeutics IkT-148009 to treat Parkinson's disease.
Werner says the group recently discovered it could administer 'very low' oral dosages to patients while still observing a concentration of the drug in the body equivalent to those in animal models where 'therapeutic benefit' was observed.
This allowed the group to accelerate all studies within the trial, which it will expect to conclude in around 6 weeks. The group will then seek the FDA's input in potentially entering Phase 2 studies.
