VIP Gloves Ltd (ASX:VIP) has appointed Chin Kar (Jimmy) Yang as group managing director of the company.
Yang has been with VIP since November 2017 and has been executive director responsible for nitrile glove sales and marketing.
He has had a diversified career, during which he has accumulated extensive corporate, development and manufacturing experience over the years.
Experienced executive
Previously, Yang served as deputy chief executive officer and head of business operations of Bio Osmo Berhad (a processing and manufacturing company listed on the Malaysian Stock Exchange).
In addition, he has also been actively involved in the housing development industry, wherein he has successfully developed a diverse range of housing and other development projects.
Yang has been a member of the company’s executive committee with key responsibilities to grow the glove manufacturing operations and expansion of the company’s business to provide nitrile gloves to the global market and meet the growing demand from end-users.
Unfortunate passing of executive director
His appointment to the position of group managing director follows the sudden and untimely passing of executive director and significant shareholder Wee Min Chen.
Chen was instrumental in the formation of the company’s glove manufacturing operations in Malaysia in 2016 and recently worked with VIP's management team to complete the commissioning of new production lines 5+6.
He had been involved in glove manufacturing for many years prior through the provision of conveyor parts to the glove manufacturing industry.
Chen leaves VIP with a strong legacy that will continue under the direct management of the executive committee of VIP, made up of the company’s chair Dr Joe Wong, non-executive director Sebastian Chang and executive director Jimmy Yang.
The company's board and executive committee will work closely with management as it continues to grow its glove manufacturing operations and expansion of the company’s business to provide nitrile gloves to the global market and meet the growing demand from end-users.
