Alto Metals Ltd (ASX:AME) has 3,000 metres of diamond drilling underway at Lords Corridor within the Sandstone Gold Project in Western Australia, targeting extensions of mineralisation below the Lord Nelson open-pit.
Once this is completed, the drilling program will move on to Vanguard and Indomitable Camp.
This drilling will advance mineral resource work, including bulk density, acquiring geotechnical information as well as gaining details for litho-structural study, aiming for further discovery at the Sandstone Gold Project.
The program is expected to be completed in four to five weeks with these assay results announced as and when received.
Assays pending
Assay results for 13 drill holes for over 2,600 metres of reverse circulation (RC) drilling remain pending for Vanguard and a further 43 drill holes for more than 9,000 metres of RC drilling from the Lords Corridor are also pending.
RC drilling is ongoing at the Lords Corridor, with the current program extended by an additional around 10,000 metres, based on the results to date.
Alto is awaiting further assays before finalising the next major drilling program.
Highest grade reported at Sandstone
Alto traded higher last week after intersecting the highest grade ever reported from the Vanguard prospect within the Sandstone Gold Project with a result of 4 metres at 60.6 g/t gold from 40 metres.
With the wide-spaced step-out RC drilling on an 80 x 80-metres grid at Vanguard intersecting visible gold in shallow primary mineralisation, investors responded well with shares as much as 20% higher to 14.5 cents intra-day on May 13.
