Chesnara says CEO will retire at the end of the year

The life and pensions consolidator has found a successor to John Deane

Chesnara PLC (LON:CSN) said John Deane is retiring as chief executive at the end of the year after six years with the life and pensions consolidator.

In that time the business has paid £171mln in dividends and seen its economic value grow by £220mln to £637mln.

Chairman Luke Savage said: "John has made a significant contribution to Chesnara during his tenure, not least to the group's excellent financial track record."

Deane will be succeeded by Steve Murray, a 20-year veteran of the life assurance industry who is currently chief commercial officer of Royal London.
