Dalrada Corporation (OTCQB:DFCO) told its shareholders that its subsidiary Dalrada Health has launched a custom labeled suite of genomics tests through Empower Genomics that assist individuals with reaching optimal health.
The corporation said Empower Genomics has a variety of tests on Pharmacogenomics (PGx), Cannabis DNA, Nutrition and Diet, and Exercise and Fitness which are aimed at “healthcare practitioners, researchers, and individuals to identify ways to improve overall well-being.”
For example, its Pharmacogenomics Test analyzes how a person’s genes respond to specific medications, whereas the Cannabis DNA Test determines how an individual metabolizes and responds to consuming specific strains of cannabis. Similarly, the Nutrition DNA Test reveals 43 genetic traits related to diet, eating behaviors and nutritional needs.
Interestingly, the company said, the Exercise and Fitness test provides “unfiltered access to how bodies respond to physical exercise by identifying 31 genetic traits that are essential including strength, recovery, and performance.”
“The need for precision medicine is worldwide,” said Dalrada, adding that it believes in harnessing the power of knowledge through advanced genomics testing.
The global genomics market size is projected to touch $54.4 billion by 2025 from $22.7 billion in 2020, logging a compound annual growth rate of 19.0% during the forecast period, according to KSU/The Sentinel.
“Software and technology are the foundation for ensuring confidentiality of personal data,” emphasized Dalrada, while noting that Empower Genomics makes this “secure process easy” while ordering a test kit, submitting a saliva sample, and in the weeks reviewing data through a secure portal individually, or with a physician.
Dalrada explained that genomics testing is used for creating visibility to gene alterations in the genetic code and for “identifying genetic markers associated with the characteristic of a disease or a health condition.” Testing a person’s genetic traits helps to better understand how their nervous system and body will react to food sensitivity and allergies, metabolic health factors, vitamin deficiencies, factors for fitness strength, recovery, performance and more, the company added.
Empower Genomics specializes in product development, testing, analysis, HIPAA-compliant technology, sales, and marketing. Empower's product line “complements Dalrada Health’s suite of products with common target markets,” said the corporation.
With operations in the US, Malaysia, and India, Dalrada Health says it can reach underserved markets through strong partnerships and the development of efficient supply chains.
