Tocvan Ventures pleased with progress of Phase 2 drilling at Pilar

So far, 11 holes have been completed for 1,811m and samples for the first five holes have been sent to the lab, the company said

Tocvan Ventures Corp (CSE:TOC) (FRA:TV3) said it was nearing the halfway point of its planned 4,000 metres (m) Phase 2 drill program at its flagship Pilar gold-silver project in Mexico.

So far, 11 holes have been completed for 1,811m and samples for the first five holes have been sent to the lab, the company said.

Early drilling focused on the extension of the Main Zone, testing deeper down-dip mineral extensions and stepping out along strike. Drill targeting has now shifted towards testing new areas along the 4-Trench Extension and Triple Vein Zone areas.

"We are extremely pleased with the progress of our Phase II Program,” said Tocvan CEO Derek Wood in a statement.

"We believe there is great potential to extend the Main Zone both at depth and along strike. Our technical team has been busy compiling data to maximize our drill targets. We are very excited to be back drilling at Pilar, as we continue to advance the project."

Earlier in May, 2021, the company reported results from ongoing metallurgical work from the project, which showed 91% recovery for one low-grade composite sample and 92% for a medium-grade composite.

The two composite samples were taken from a hole reported in December 2020, which hit 94.6m at 1.6 grams per ton (g/t) gold.

At Pilar, a second stage of drilling totalling 1,600m is planned to begin in mid-May this year, which will continue to test property-wide targets and follow-up on results from the initial stage.

Tocvan Ventures has two exciting opportunities in the shape of its Pilar gold-silver project in Sonora, Mexico and the Rogers Creek copper project in southern British Columbia.
