Capita names Tim Weller as CFO as its transformation continues

Weller was CFO of recently acquired security company G4S PLC

Capita PLC (LON:CPI) announced that Tim Weller will join the outsourcing company as chief financial officer on May 12 and will also join the board as an executive director.

Weller had been CFO of security company G4S PLC (LON:GFS), recently acquired by US group Allied Universal, since 2016. He has 19 years’ experience as a CFO with G4S, Innogy, RWE Thames Water, United Utilities Group PLC, Cable & Wireless Worldwide PLC, and Petrofac Ltd.

Gordon Boyd, interim CFO, will be stepping down from the board on May 12 and will leave Capita on May 13 as planned. As a result, Capita confirmed that a resolution to elect Boyd as a director of the company at its AGM has now been withdrawn.

“I am delighted that Tim is joining Capita,” said Jon Lewis, Capita’s chief executive. “He is a highly experienced CFO and brings with him extensive knowledge, not only of our own sector, but of many other areas of business.

“Tim’s expertise will be invaluable in leading our finance team and supporting our ongoing transformation as we continue to build a more focused, client-centric and streamlined Capita for the long term.

“I would like to thank Gordon Boyd for the important part he has played as interim CFO, as we have continued to simplify and strengthen Capita, despite the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 crisis,” Lewis added.
