Oriole Resources PLC (LON:ORR) has started a regional mapping and stream sediment sampling programme at the Central Licence project in Cameroon.
This licence covers a continuous land package of 3,592 square kilometres. To date, a total of 180 samples have been collected of a planned 1,360 sample programme. Results are expected in the second half of 2021.
Meanwhile, assay results from a recently completed drill programme on the company’s Bibemi project look likely to be delayed as laboratories in Cote D’Ivoire have become backed-up due to nationwide power outages.
Previously Oriole had reported visible gold in “multiple” holes as drilling was ongoing.
Oriole has been reassured that measures have been put in place so that the normal turnaround times of around 14 days from receipt and clearance from customs have now resumed.
The results of subsequent multielement analysis will be longer, as that analysis is being completed in Canada.
The company still anticipates that full results for the programme will be released before the end of the current quarter.
Under the terms of its option agreement with Bureau d'Etudes et d'Investigations Géologico-minières, Géotechniques et Géophysiques SARL, Oriole will, upon completion of the work to analyse the samples, satisfy the conditions to earn a 90% interest in RMC Cameroon SARL which owns the Bibemi project.
