Eden Research PLC (LON:EDEN) said its commercial collaborator, Eastman Chemical Company, has received authorisation from Italian regulators to sell its Cedroz pesticide in the country.
Cedroz is designed to control free living nematodes, parasitic worms that cause severe damage to crops in fields and greenhouses.

The AIM-listed biopesticide specialist said the approval covers the use of Cedroz on tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, chilis, pepino, cucumbers, melons, courgettes, pumpkins, and strawberries and follows emergency authorisation of the pesticide in Italy in May last year to coincide with the growing season.
Cedroz is the second Eden product to be fully authorised in Italy following approval of its bio-fungicide Mevalone, which has been sold in the country since 2016.
"Today's authorisation represents an expansion of Eden's footprint in Italy, one of Europe's most significant agricultural markets. Last year's emergency authorisation of Cedroz in Italy highlighted the strong need for a sustainable alternative for growers in the Italian market and we are delighted that we have now gone one step further to full authorisation," Eden’s chief executive Sean Smith said in a statement.
“Cedroz has now been authorised in 9 countries and we look forward to continuing to work with our partners, including Eastman to further expand its footprint in this expanding gap in the market," he added.
