Codebase Ventures investee Arcology completes DSToken showcase as internal tests show speeds of up to 28,000 transactions per second

Arcology said that the showcase is a “great first step towards interoperability” and opens up the possibility for complex decentralized applications to be redeployed from their existing blockchains directly onto Arcology’s platform

Codebase Ventures Inc (CSE:CODE) (OTCQB:BKLLF) said that its portfolio company Arcology has wrapped up another showcase of an optimized version of DSToken.

DSToken is used by some of the most popular Ethereum-based applications like MakerDAO’s DAI.

In a statement, Arcology said that the showcase is a “great first step towards interoperability” and opens up the possibility for complex decentralized applications to be redeployed from their existing blockchains directly onto Arcology’s platform.

The decentralized applications will run faster and more efficiently on Arcology’s native chain with more affordable fees for both new and existing users, the company said.

Arcology's technical team is currently running internal speed tests with their optimized version of the DSToken, reaching speeds of up to 28,000 transactions per second at full capacity, according to the company. Ethereum currently averages around 15 transactions per second, Arcology noted.

Arcology’s founder Laurent Zhang said that he believes Arcology will be able to gain a “sizeable percentage” of this market once fully operational, as the company focuses on lowering the barrier of entry for users and building a strong developer community.

"One of the situations that many developers are facing with Ethereum today is the frustration of failing to meet growing popularity," Zhang added in a statement. "With its scalability and cost advantage, Arcology is able to target areas of the blockchain ecosystem that weren't accessible to Ethereum users due to the high fees and network congestion. We do not hope to replace Ethereum, we aim to bring accessibility to users and developers alike, expanding market opportunities.”

Vancouver-based Codebase owns 30% of Arcology, with an option to increase its position to 51%.
