Kin Mining NL (ASX:KIN) (FRA:8KM) has received further wide, high-grade assays from ongoing reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the Cardinia Hill deposit within the Cardinia Gold Project (CGP), near Leonora in Western Australia.
Results include 7 metres at 21.3 g/t gold from 91 metres, 3.4 metres at 9.72 g/t from 252.6 metres, 10 metres at 1.48 g/t from 118 metres, 5 metres at 4.99 g/t from 21 metres and 8 metres at 4.02 g/t from 19 metres.
A further 14 drill holes and 1,561 metres of drilling have been completed - around 30% of the planned program which is now 60% complete.
Following on from results reported on March 30, the program has been designed to extend mineral resources to 200 metres below surface, extend the deposit along strike to the north and infill the near-surface portion of the resource to 25 by 25 metres spacing as the foundation for an upgrade of the resource estimate and classification.
Another 15 holes await drilling with a further 13 holes completed with assays pending, including six diamond core holes.
Following completion of the resource definition program, a metallurgical test-work drilling program will be completed to obtain suitable samples and confirm the metallurgical and treatment performance of the Cardinia Hill deposit.
Cardinia Hill “continues to grow in stature”
Managing director Andrew Munckton said: “Cardinia Hill is continuing to grow in stature with each batch of results, with the drilling further extending the mineralisation both close to surface and at depth.
“We are particularly pleased to see some outstanding high grades coming through in these latest results from areas outside the initial mineral resource estimate boundary, which is consistent with our strategy of targeting high-grade additions at depth and along strike to increase the value of the deposit and extend the MRE into other open pit and potential underground mining positions.”
High-grade results
New results at Cardinia Hill build on the potential for the deposit to emerge as a sizeable, high-grade source within the project.
Further strong results were also received from RC and diamond extension drill holes at Bruno Lewis. These include:
- 16 metres at 1.22 g/t from 51 metres;
- 7.4 metres at 7.67 g/t from 83 metres; and
- 6 metres at 2.86 g/t from 15 metres and 3 metres at 6.60 g/t from 57 metres.
Results to feed into resource upgrade
Munckton continued: “These results will all feed into what we hope to be a significant mineral resource upgrade at Cardinia Hill which will cement its position as one of our cornerstone deposits at the Cardinia Gold Project.
“In addition to the Cardinia Hill resource definition drilling a large portion of the Eastern Corridor RC drilling has been completed which is testing a series of targets along the fault on which the Cardinia Hill deposit sits.
“The geological team is eagerly awaiting the assay results from this program.”
Drilling is continuing with three rigs operating at the Eastern Corridor, Eagle and Cardinia Hill prospects across the project.
