Aurumin intersects new gold mineralised structures at Mt Dimer

Encouraged by recent assays from Mt Dimer Project, the company plans to move to the next phase, where it will test along identified structures rather than the wider-spaced drill lines.

Aurumin Ltd (ASX:AUN) has received further encouraging gold results from reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the 100%-owned Mt Dimer Project with multiple new mineralised structures identified.

The completed RC drilling program at the project around 100 kilometres northeast of Southern Cross in Western Australia identified multiple zones of quartz at approximate targeted positions.

Best results include:

  • 4 metres at 3.60 g/t gold from 95 metres including 1-metre at 9.73 g/t from 95 metres;
  • 3 metres at 2.71 g/t from 61 metres including 1-metre at 6.21 g/t from 62 metres; and
  • 1-metre at 4.33 g/t from 78 metres.

“Highly successful” drilling

Aurumin managing director Brad Valiukas said: “This drilling has been highly successful, having both confirmed targeted structures and intersected extensive gold mineralisation.

“We can now move to the next phase, where we will test along the identified structures rather than the wider-spaced drill lines.

“Our view is that Mt Dimer has considerable upside and the potential for multiple open pits, in addition to the known high-grade Lightning and Golden Slipper deposits.

“We are looking forward to the last batch of assays from the SAM survey targets and the assays for Golden Slipper.”

Confirmed mineralisation

Mt Dimer is a historical high-grade production centre, having produced more than 125,000 ounces of gold, including open pit and underground production of 600,000 tonnes at 6.4 g/t.

The principal focus of the drill program at Mt Dimer was to test the primary targets generated by the 2020 SAM (ground-based Sub-Audio Magnetic) survey.

This program tested eight of the 13 primary targets, plus one target bordering the SAM survey.

The SAM survey covered a relatively small survey area of the granted mining tenements and a much larger footprint is available to be tested in the future.
